The main focus of the food runner is to deliver the food to the guest in a timely fashion, and the utmost care is taken to deliver that dish exactly how the chef has prepared it.
• Able to carry multiple plates at once without spilling or ruining the set-up of the dish. These dishes may also be very hot or carry extremely hot liquids, such as soup
• Tray Service may also be used at some locations, which requires heavy lifting and a certain balance as to not drop any dishes.
• Food Runners many also be required to assist the floor staff with many of their duties. For example:

Clearing and cleaning tables

Filling water glasses, refilling drinks or running drinks from the bar

Bread Service

Dealing with customer complaints or issues

Marking of tables
Has working knowledge, and uses in his/her daily procedures, the following operational forms and procedures:

Understanding of all the ingredients in all menu items (i.e. Menu Descriptions)

Labor Schedules (i.e. HotSchedules)

Cleaning Checklists
• Assists in the cleaning, sanitation and organization of your work area and the entire restaurant.
• Attends all scheduled employee meetings.
• Available to work all scheduled shifts and holidays.
